Clubs and Organizations
The mission of the Mary H. Wright Elementary Student Council is to provide opportunities for leadership among the students of the building, empower the students to maintain an active role in school-wide programs, and foster a desire to actively encourage the student body to participate in programs that are devoted to the betterment of the school and community.
The Mary H. Wright Elementary School Student Council provides students in grades fourth and fifth opportunities to participate in and practice leadership and responsible decision making by holding officer positions. They are nominated by their peers to be on the Student Council.
Council members may participate in the organization and operation of a variety of activities such as a canned food drive for the needy; candy gram sales, the profit from which is used to financially support Council approved projects.
Boys and Girls Club
The after school club is offered to students in grades first through fifth for homework and other enrichment activities.
Mary Wright Garden Club
With help from grants and volunteers, students work on campus in raised bed gardens to grow vegetables such as lettuce, carrots, and radishes.
Dance team is made up of fourth and fifth grade students. They practice after school to perfect their performance for activities and events such as the school’s Black History Month program and Veterans Day Program.
Wofford Math Club
With help from volunteers from collegiate club members of Wofford College, upper grade students are provided a tutorial and a study buddy to help them master challenging math skills.
